Le Chat à la Maison

Today I am sharing a spontaneous street shot that I took while getting to know my new husband's home near Paris, France in 2012. 
Nothing fancy, nothing  awe-inspiring, a simple pic of the neighbor's cat resting on the windowsill of a typical French home that caught my eye while walking the streets of Lognes on this day three years ago.

Gold cat lying on a window sill:
Silent, unmoving, placid;
Looking out on the world
With large, golden eyes
That see everything indifferently.


I wish that I could be as complacent,
Tranquil, relaxed, and comfortable
As that long-haired, golden cat
Lying on the window sill
Looking out on the world.
