Whats going on

After the amazing afternoon we had yesterday and all the fun Kanye had last night at star jam, it all fell apart overnight.

Kanye started to have seizures around 10pm- tonic clonics (grand mal) all lasting around a minute each, his last seizure at 3 am-ish, then he started vomiting, a lot. This was not typical of his normal seizure activity.

Andre and i took turns though out the night getting up to him as he seized but both of us got up at 430am when Kanye was very sick, Andre had to carry him into the shower, Kanye had no strength. I changed his sheets and sorted his medication.

I called the neurology nurse left a message and took mar to school  at normal time telling his teacher and the principal what was happening in case someone else had to get Marley. When i got back the neurology nurse called and  said that she had spoken to Kanyes neurologist and they wanted him in hospital as he was still vomiting and seizing.

We were seen quite quickly by 2 doctors in the childrens unit who thoroughly checked him over and just as they finished doing so Kanyes neurologist came in the room in between appointments he had, to check on him and discuss what was happening.

They aren't sure if this is a bug or if hes now starting to vomit as a result of seizures. That's quite common the neurologist said.

So they decided to add in another medication temporarily to calm his wee brain down, we see the neurologist in 2 weeks where he wants to discuss trying an alternative medication as the ones he on, he has been  so for 2 year now and there may be something better.

Kanye had a few more seizures in hospital in the children s acute assessment unit, so they observed him and gave him the additional medication, after about an hour he started to be responsive and awake, he ate some jelly and had a drink. He was extremely exhausted he couldn't hold himself up.

We left hospital mid afternoon, Andres work let him work from home for part of the morning then have a half day off so he picked us up. Harper was at home with my mum until Andre got home, mum helped with housework and Andre took care of Harper.

When we got home we put Kanye to bed and let him sleep, he had another 2 seizures at home before he stopped all together, woke and started eating.

Was so good to be home, i hadn't eaten or had coffee, i lost my card this morning at Marley's school after buying him a fluffy from the cafe (i didn't realize until i was at hospital i had lost it), it was found and  handed in to the school office who told me after school when i went in to ask but upon the office  calling the bank  saying my card was handed in the bank cancelled it and told the school to cut it up!

When i called the bank after finding out school had found it and had been cancelled they were great in waiving the fee of getting a new one straight away as the bank failed to call me and say it had been found which theyre meant to do before canceling it.

By bedtime though very tired you wouldn't have known how unwell Kanye was just hours ago, how much of a bad state he was in. He was so unresponsive today at the hospital i begged him to not leave me, i feared that would be the last time i saw him. Andre and i fear that, at times like this that there'll come a time he'll just be gone.

The hospital have given us a blue card so in the instance of today we can contact the childrens unit directly and tell them whats happening, we can then take him straight into hospital, avoiding going through the emergency department or going to the doctors.

Its for children who need more hospital visits, who have conditions that mean they need quick medical attention. We can still call and ambulance if need be , we'll still get taken through to the childrens unit where there is always a doctor working and have on call specialists and are able to contact consultants if need be.

So a long day, Andre and i were both so tired by evening.
But Kanye is ok, and he'll be ok, hes exhausted but we've had smiles so we know hes on the mend.

We are so grateful for our family and friends, for their support, for Andres work letting him go home, for the doctors and nurses and neurologist for taking such amazing care of Kanye. More than anything we are so grateful he still here.
