Acer

I went for a walk across the park late this afternoon (just before it got dark).  I wanted to see how the Japanese Acer was looking.  As you can see, it was absolutely beautiful, probably at its peak of Autumn colour, but not yet dropping its leaves.  The colours here are, I think, pretty accurate, showing the deep saturated reds against the backdrop of still green leaves on the native tree species.
