In her life

We"ve been to a little party.

My Manager and my best friend is leaving our work place. She's been her 30 years this month.

We've been planning and plotting for a few weeks now and she's very nearly caught us out a few times. I've nearly told her who I've seen when all should have been a secret. She's caught us with the curtains shut (whilst we were taking photos) and yelling at us to open them! "Whats going on" as a colleague was holding a duvet by the window to stop the light. We passed it off but I think she knew were up to something.

The day started early as another colleague prepared the table. I joined her with some bits and a finish off before we had a leisurly bombay saphire gin as our treat. We felt we earned it.

Everyone started to arrive, pleasantries exchanged before the usual rigmarole of who ordered what for dinner. Mains were lovely sticky toffee pudding - with a twist was lovely. Myself i had the asiette which was lovely.

We then had the speaches, our manager, my best friend had a little tear as she opened her gift of her pandora with charms relevant to her post. A book has been secretly round the county without her knowledge for people to write a message about her, like a card but it was a book. She read that with a tear too so i thought we'd get all the tears over in one go and she had a story about her life, 30 years on her work place. This was thought provoking and brought out some fond memories for all who worked with her.

With the story over our manager, my best friend made her own speach and went round her staff team and made individual comments and thoughts for each individual member of staff and those who have left but joined us today. More tears but lovely sentiment to each one.

It was now nearly 4pm so we had time for a little breather before the night do started. We reminised some more.

The night do started at 5pm and people arrived to see the special lady. There were more tears more surprises in who came and a good night had by all.

There were one or two of us who had the obligutary shots, we had, quatilla, jaeger bomb, sambuka (no flames) apple sour followed by raspberry sour and finished off with another quatilla. Even our manager, my best friend had a raspberry sour.

It's been a fun day, a nice day, a sad day too. I will miss my manager who was an OUTSTANDING manager. Ofsted judged the whole of our house as OUTSTANDING which could only be possible wth an outstanding manager.

It's been a lovely day, even tho we are all sad to see her go. I do hope my dearest friend has had a good day wish her all the very best for the next chapter in her life.
