Lily of the Valley

It's been a good autumn for fruit - I've not seen so many berries on our Lily-of-the-Valley as there are this year. We have several named clones, some of which are supposedly giant, and the dainty little pink one.

My favourite fragrance, I think.

I'm not very good on my insects. What's the little fella hanging on to a fruit? Some kind of a fly? He wasn't actually on there, but landed nearby - I lifted him on with a stick! Cheat!

My extra picture today is of a special form of polypodium fern found by a friend growing on the wall of Conway Castle in Wales and he named it Castell Conwy.
