Golden Leaves

I started the day making another vat of soup - carrot and coriander this time. Very nice it was too - a nice warming lunch! Plenty left for later in the week or to freeze.

It rained on and off most of the morning - so we didn't get out for a walk until after lunch. On the way to Hedley Hall we pass a small plantation of trees and today the leaves on them were a particularly bright golden yellow colour with a few bits of red about. Even with no direct sunlight they were glowing!

Plenty of puddles around for the dogs to splash about in. Very muddy they were too.

On our way home we had to make a detour as one of the roads was blocked by a couple of felled trees (they had been cut down) - and they were just positioning an articulated lorry with a huge crane on the back to lift the trunks.
