Hesperantha...

This is one of the last flowers to bloom in the horticultural year in the UK. Two months before Christmas Day, surrounded by fallen Autumn leaves, and this beautiful plant has just begun to flower. It's called Hesperantha or Kaffir Lily though I'm told that it's common name is somewhat offensive in South Africa so I'll be sticking to the Latin in future.
