More music...

At the other end of the age range from the lads I posted about yesterday, was this Jazz band on the terrace outside Barbakan, Chorlton's very popular and much lauded (even the London press have heard of it) Polish delicatessen. It was, for October, a warm weekend and Barbakan was having one of, what may be, its last BBQs.. The terrace was packed with Chorlton hipsters enjoying some al fresco lunch.

The music had a serious point. They were raising money for cancer research. We seem to have conquered most of the diseases that used to carry us off early leaving only cancer. Cancer rates have been going up and I suspect it's because we have seen off virtually everything else and all that's left is cancer. And we seem to be making inroads even into that.

These guys sang. Unlike yesterday's young men they have been certain of their vocal ranges for more years than they care to remember.
