Mono Monday - Origins

Thank you ITN for spoiling the Formula 1 race from the USA.  I suppose I should have known better than to watch the news before catching the race highlights.  I did watch part last night and then caught up this morning over breakfast and what a race it was.

The Mono Monday Challenge is Origins and as usual I've struggled a little but decided that a post box would fit the bill.

"Apparently, in 1853 the first pillar box on the British mainland was erected at Botchergate, Carlisle, and a similar box from the same year still stands at Barnes Cross, Bishop's Caundle in Dorset. It is the oldest pillar box still in use on the mainland."  Obviously this isn't it.
