Broken down...

Mumbai - day 6

Another early rise this morning we packed our bags, checked out of MCA and were picked up by a bus with AC for our journey to Nerul. We were met by mr. Prasant Sawant. In Nerul we were welcomed staff and students. After a tour of the school we participated in a critical thinking workshop with year 11 and 12 - engaging with other students was what our students craved and today they had ample opportunity.

After a visit of the sports grounds, the stadium, hospital and radio station it was time for lunch (which included past to the delight of most students). After lunch we had a short IB economics lesson, we were joined by the year 11 students for tour around the medical simulation lab, where doctors and medical students get training on life like dummies (which looked very life like and some even had pulse rates). This was followed by another Warli art work shop with year 12. Again students of both schools really enjoyed working and talking together.

For us teachers it was an amazing opportunity to meet our colleagues from Nerul, share ideas and find possibilities and ideas of future collaboration- inspiring!

At 4pm iur bus was ready to take us to Pune. Unfortunately only a short distance into the journey our driver noticed a problem - we had to pull over on the hard shoulder... A broken ventilator belt ment not enough power was generated, meaning loss of breaking power. Initially the driver tried procuring a new belt, but in the end we had to wait for another bus to pick us up.

This resulted in us arriving late at Pune. Unfortunately we also encountered so administrative problems at the hotel. It was after 1 am when we finally allowed in our rooms...

Tomorrow we'll spend the day in the knowledge coty of Pune.
