ON THE PATH OF OUR WALK

Today we decided not to go far for our walk. Just through the forest to the Weser and from there upstream till the tunnel. We met the owner of the two horses again, her husband had build a wooden hut for their convenience and I asked if the horses liked it. The answer was, of course, that they liked it very much. she told us that another week the horses would stay outside and then be moved to their winterquarter. She was busy brushing one of the horse, but the horse was not obedient enough for her, and we heard her grumble even when we had moved away.
I know she loves her horses very much despite her grumbling.
The colours of the trees around us are astonishing and we walk in oh's and ah's. The weather had been rather grey, but now it changed and a soft pink appeared at the horizon.
In the morning we had been working, again, hard in the garden and I wonder if we can continue this way. Hercules task again. And we know Nature knows no halt whatsoever. I do not complain, no, being outside is always a feast, fresh air and movement, it must be healthy.

My haiku:

Every hour the trains
Ride along his little home
Down in the valley

A strange haiku, if you ask me.

And the proverb:

Try your skill in gilt first, and then in gold.
