Unexpectedly....

............This happened today!
For the last couple of months I have been raising Indian Moon moth Actias selene larvae. These silk moths are beautiful, and the larvae equally so, and I really enjoyed seeing the larvae grow bigger and bigger, but when they pupated for silly reason I just assumed they would hatch in the spring! 
Fast forward to today and lo and behold this beauty has hatched! 
She is such a stunning pale delicate minty green colour, and just huge! I was so pleased with her. 
No doubt more pictures will follow, but just in case you can't wait I have included a shot of the whole moth in my extras.
