A bit grainy

Making connections.....

We had Popeye round for dinner this evening. I felt some company was required for the poor lad after spending two days "sorting out all of his belongings". Adjusting to civvy-life alone in yer hometown cannae be easy after months at sea working with your other half (who is now AWOL in the USA).

We were honoured when 3 A-list blippers sneaked in behind us in the queue at the new Asda in Leith. It were all the Bees that put the Buh Buh Buh B in Blipfoto: BB herself, Blogs' Burd on her Burfday and Blogs' Bairn, Bonnie Bella.

(I didn't discover that it was a Blip birthday until later this evening, so apologies LLP!)

The new Asda gave me a surreal backflash (bit like a flashback). When you come outta the store you see a view of Chancelot Mill that has remained unknown to most eyes for years. It takes you by surprise at first coz it is so imposing and dominant in the sky. You think "where did that come from?" - Could be a Moscow housing-scheme.

It took me back to when I were a lad and we kicked about "doon the pipes".

The pipes were great fun to lose yourself in and hide and generally fuck about. As you got older some mates would end up working "doon the pipes". At the weekend, rarely but more than once, you'd hear a story of someone having been killed working "doon the pipes"; A seriously dangerous place to work before health & safety "dogma" kicked in in the latter part of the century.

There is something else on the far side of the carpark that should be photograped at night..... big wheely, dockside type thingymajig - it looks mighty industrial and imposing too.
