Dunnock

Usually when I try and photograph the hedge sparrow the result is disappointing as its colouring makes it blend into the background. So I was really pleased with how sharp this one is and love the alert stance of the bird. (Note to self: must weed patio.)

Also got a couple of good shots of a male chaffinch. Though the bird appears to have a facial growth, it didn't seem to affect its ability to eat or any other behaviour. (See Extra.)

In a nod to Hallowe'en, I have to say that the scariest thing for me today was receiving my bus pass in this morning's post. (Another Extra!)

Otherwise, it's a beautiful day - MILD and SUNNY, with a cloudless blue sky! Yay!
