A New Beginning

The final load of crap extruded from the house was duly carried away by two now familiar men in their van. It didn't all fit, but by the end of the day the house was finally cleared of every last vestige of my presence. It wasn't a sad moment when I handed the keys over, although it felt a little strange when I had to knock on the door later to mention to the new owners a couple of little things I thought they should know. The weather felt positively portentous. I spent the whole day in shorts and a T-shirt. It felt warmer than most days we've had all summer. Rather than an end it definitely felt like a new beginning. With no more hoarding!
