Lollipop sir?

Another blipping interesting day!  We started off at the Capitol this morning just about getting there on time as we decided to go on the subway and there were all sorts of weekend timetable changes.  The guided tour around there was interesting although the dome is all covered up inside and out as it last had major work done on it in Lincoln's time.  It's made of cast iron and now leaks!  As the rotunda is used for any lying in state occasions, they are hoping that Carter, Dole or Bush Senior don't die before Jan 2017 when the work should be completed.  We were a bit disappointed that we couldn't see the modern chambers of government as they are not open at weekends.

Then we took ourselves on the trek across the City to the Zoo specifically to see my favourites - the pandas.  We saw three of them - the new baby is not yet on display.  I'll have to come back again to see him!  We were lucky enough to be there when this panda was given one of his favourite treats so he came and sat quite close to us to eat it.

We have walked a long way again today but we get an extra hour in bed tonight as the clocks go back one hour.  I've been amazed at the number of grown men and women wandering around in fancy dress for Hallowe'en all day today!
