All Saints Day - Day of the Dead

Today I have blipped a shrine which has been erected in recent years on the cliff top road which leads from Almerimar to Roquetas.   It was originally a pile of rocks with a cross, possibly put there as someone died in that spot (probably an accident).   There has always been lots of plastic bottles filled with water in front.   Apparently if you leave a bottle of water, then someone who is sick will be healed.

However, in more recent years two proper constructions have been built with pictures and figurines inside.   This last few months plants have been added.   There is also a sign which says 'Gracias Difunta Correa' which means 'Thank you Deceased Area' (more or less!).

So today it is a celebration of our deceased relatives and friends, and it is also our Wedding Anniversary.
