In Memoriam

"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope"

St Luke's in Tiptree held a special memorial service this afternoon for the families in the parish who have lost a loved one in the past year.  Our family was sent an invitation, and I attended with Mum, my nephew and his fiancée.  The church was full.  The names of those who had passed away, including Dad's, were read out and we lit a candle for each person who was being remembered.  I found the service a great comfort, particularly its messages of hope and of knowing that love never dies, even after death.  I felt the love of, and for, my father very strongly, and know that it will never fade.
