WORST WILDFIRE SEASON -
IN COLORADO'S HISTORY

A half dozen forest fires have consumed 187,000 acres.
-Destroying 248 homes.
-Forcing 6,000 evacuations.
-Our signature bright blue skies are muted by a gray haze that dries and burns the eyes.
-In Estes Park, the East Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, 22 homes succumbed to fire in mere minutes.
-From Estes, it's 50 miles across Trail Ridge Road to the West Entrance to Rocky Mountain, and my home in Grand Lake.
-Where a statewide fire ban is in effect
- Yesterday, at 2:30 pm, our Fireworks were cancelled.
-A fire lookout above Shadow Mountain Lake is manned 24/7. For the first time in 41 years.
-We pray for rain.
-We pray for the wind to stop.
-We pray we'll be spared.

I appreciate your caring thoughts and questions about my situation.
