DAD'S DERBY RITUAL
I remember being six -

Before my Dad left for work in the morning, he'd kiss me on the cheek, and remind me to, "Be good."

Then he'd pull my mom in close. Planting a full-on passionate kiss Smack on her lips, which left her a little breathless but smiling.

After a stop at the hall tree for his
Derby, he walked out the door.

Funny what becomes memorable after you're gone.

This is for you Carolyn and that romantic dad of yours.
(Not about my dad, who I never met)
