Time signature

I have attempted to keep with the Mono challenge of Time as set by GoranZebuhr linked with music.  For any piece of music there has to be a time set so that all musicians can keep together - in larger groups a conductor is necessary for keeping everything on track.
Monday evenings are rehearsal nights for Tring Choral Society where we are currently rehearsing the Messiah by Handel for the Christmas Concert;  we have also started learning  work for next term - Russian Requiem by Elis Pehkonen (anyone performed this?).  You Tube link to this work here.
This Requiem is very hard and we are assured it is beautiful and dramatic once we have got to know it.  One factor which doesn't make life any easier is that the time signature is constantly changing.  I haven;t needed to search far to find a page where the time changes for every bar - 10 bars on this page so ten changes of time!  the page starts in 3/2 then 4/4, 3/8, 3/4, back to 3/8, 2/2, 4/4, 3/8, 3/4 and 3/8 - the next page starts off in 2/2 and stays that time for several pages!  Whew!!

We keep telling ourselves it will be 'alright on the night'!

I had a fun morning photographing babies at a NCT group in which my daughter is involved.  Unfortunately she wasn't there this morning as it was her first morning in after a year's maternity leave.  I photographed 10 babies in all - so quite a hard few hours.  They were very sweet, especially the twin girls whose mum has dressed them in little 'pea' suits for the Halloween party.

My alternative blip would have been the Time of Year - November mists.
