Workride #11 Station Hotel, Harecroft

This is the result of the clocks going back and a very foggy morning.  However, once I had reached the end of Bents Lane the fog pretty much cleared until I dropped back down into Allerton.  The view from the Duke of York was particularly fine.

So back to work and back on the bike today.  Just after the location of my previous workride blip I turn left up the hill into the hamlet of Harecroft.  Folks staying over at the village's Station Hotel would have had a bit of a hike to get to the railway station which was outside the village and at the top of the climb from the viaduct (nicknamed the Alpine Route).  Sadly the railway was dismantled in 1964 (thankyou Dr Beeching!) but the hotel/pub remains.  More fog tomorrow apparently!
