Dyrham Park Roof Repairs

A diary shot for our last day in Somerset.  This is the roof space at Dyrham park which is a long way through a refurbishment project intended to give the roof another 200 years.  The National Trust has been quite innovative in building the walkway for visitors around the working area.  There is access to a few rooms within the house but we spent most of our afternoon up here.  Apart from one, used by the new biomass boiler, the chimneys are not going to be used in the future hence the caps for ventilation.  All of the lead from the roof has been removed and 'recycled' in that it goes to be melted down and new sheets are returned to recover the roof.

Worth the trip,  but go soon if you want to see it, it is open until the 20th of December.

Thanks for all the kind comments and stars on my efforts from the past few days, much appreciated.  I'll catch up with everyone else over the next day or two ...
