Lone Pear

I've been complaining all summer that my pear tree, after producing lots of lovely blossom, hadn't produced a single pear! Well imagine my surprise this morning, when I went into the garden and there, underneath the pear tree was this one, lone pear. Sure, it's a bit speckly and it's as hard as a rock, but IT IS a pear. I think it might even be edible if I poach it well enough... Yum!
