Preparations for the Skinningrove Bonfire night

A morning walk for me (fairly early) in a mix of sun, mist and fog as the weather conditions changed by the minute and then a  visit to the coast with Ann (after buying lunch sandwiches at the Danby bakery).  Unfortunately the mist/ fog was closing in again and we diverted to Skinningrove rather than continue to Saltburn.  We were amazed at the scene that greeted us, so have since been researching this event which is apparently attended by thousands of people.  I'm not sure how everyone gets parked!  We completed our afternoon in Staithes - cold and misty with a welcome hot-drink and cake in the cafe.

Extra photos:  Approaching Danby Rigg - the cobwebs and water droplets made the scene look like christmas.  And sun with a hint of mist at the start of my walk - looking across to Castleton Rigg.
