Office View 16:45

Made a sad discovery this morning.  I was walking to work and I discovered a rabbit on the footpath.  It was alive but it didn't look in a good way.  It didn't ty to run away when I got really close. I can't ignore things like that.  So I ran into the office and found a large box.  I told a colleague what I'd found and she said she'd help.

The rabbit didn't object to being picked up and put into our improvised hutch.  We gave it some water, and then went to find out what to do.  We phoned a vet that my colleague knew and asked her for advice.

She said that the animal must be taken to a vet in Wiesbaden, especially if it had myxomatosis (the symptoms made that look likely).  There are government departments that need to be informed if that was the case.

So we found a vet in Wiesbaden and took the rabiit there.  She confirmed that it was Myxomatosis and euthanased the rabbit.

The only crumb of comfort was that it didn't suffer any more.

Put me in an odd mood all day.
