Where Did The Purple Go?

I swear these look way more purple in real life than they do here.  There seems to be lots of them around at the moment and they're quite pretty.

It was Friday and that was reason enough for happiness.  I danced out of the office at 3:15 this afternoon and straight into a wall of greyness.  The fog is refusing to go.

And in "Already? Really?" news, as I swept through the city centre this afternoon I notice that the lights and the first booths are being built for the Xmas market....

And my German Word of the day - das Eselsohr.  It translates as "donkey ear" and it's what you do when you fold over the corner of a page in a book.  Of course it's "Dog ear" in English.  Maybe the folds are much bigger here. 

Oh & that reminds me, needles have ears here and not eyes.
