ray...

...proudly wearing his glengarry bonnet, rosette cockade and NO not a pompom on top but a toorie.

The local RSL have permission to start selling the  red poppies of Remembrance Day a few days early and today Ray and colleagues were set up in the main street.
Junior was entertained with a FULL run down of a Willys Jeep (and a seat behind the wheel) while I buttonholed Ray for the story of his bonnet and medals.
Those on his right jacket breast were those of his father and uncle who fought in the Somme and on the left breast his medals from his service career.
His bonnet cap badge is that of the Royal Western Australian Regiment that included the Cameron Highlanders of Western Australia and very proud of the bonnet, toorie and badge he is.
