South to Newsatle...

MrM and I did a double-take this morning as we passed this road sign! We live in the north of England and this sign, for the benefit of drivers following some bewildering diversions due to road works, is supposed to  indicate that they are heading for the south and NEWCASTLE!
Really doesn't reflect well on the standard of spelling/general education in Britain. I don't know which government agency produced it, but they need a good proofreader - my rates are very reasonable!

This was to have been 'courtyard weekend' - earlier in the week, the forecast promised nothing worse than one or two showers. Wrong! Heavy rain to start with, showers as we walked on Alnmouth beach, and wet in the afternoon. Not the sort of day to work outside. Maybe the current forecast for tomorrow - heavy rain - will be wrong too!

Another excellent concert in Etal in the evening - Clive Gregson  and Liz Simcock, with Scott Turnbull and Jane Oxnard, two very talented young musicians, as the support act. (Between you and me, MrM and I both preferred the support act...)
