Weird plant!

Today I had to go back to town to get all the stuff I didn't get when I forgot my purse yesterday. I felt I did much better with the walking around today, even though I was going at the pace of a snail coming home. I am improving slowly!

On the way into town I took some shots of a strange plant in the council flowerbeds near the flats. To begin with I thought it was a white plant, but looking at the pictures I think it may actually be a green plant with some sort of fungus growing on it. My plant knowledge would not fill the back of a stamp, so maybe one of you green fingered types can shed some light for me?
