Laptop computer nigh totally dismantled, all just to replace a wee battery that keeps the clock going, and stores a few other settings. Unlike the usual ones I've repaired at home, this one at work was near spotless inside, as it obviously hasn't been used much over its years of service. Think we were given it about five years ago, when it was considered to be too old to be of use to anyone else... and was otherwise going to be disposed of. Now it's about thirteen years old.

Took it apart last night, mostly after work hours. One of the most awkward and complicated I've ever done. But years of knowledge gained from those too numerous ones done at home, did help. So it wasn't too difficult. Battery replaced. Reassembled... with nothing left over, and it works again. Phew!
