Migrant in Moscow

Rustic Moscow

Rustic scene in the middle of Moscow (about 5 minutes' walk from the city's most expensive district). This old structure (still in use) is in the yard of the Church of Holy Martyr Vlasius in the Settlement of the Old Stables.  The first written record of a church on the site goes back to 1625.  In early days the area was a swamp and favoured for grazing goats.

(It was hard to find a straight line in this photograph.  In the end I assumed that the 17-storey building standing behind was the straightest line!).
