Taking it very seriously

A lovely day spent in London with the three girls. We travelled by train and bus to the Barbican, where the two older girls and I were going to a concert. This was a very good, varied and family-orientated programme with the London Symphony Orchestra and Choirs, highlighting a new suite based on ‘Alice in Wonderland’. (Gordon and the little one went and did their own thing for an hour.)

A wonderful experience, but what was most impressive was the range of pre-concert activities that were laid on for everyone. A great guy held several sessions where he taught children (and adults) five choral sections from the suite and then they were able to sing these during the concert. Inspired!
 
They also had the opportunity to take part in an instrumental music session, as my (not very good – my little camera struggled somewhat with the lighting) picture shows.
 
Excellent day. And we have a day to ourselves tomorrow, with lots planned!
