stairway to...

...not heaven but on to the parapet around the section of the York city walls near the Museum Gardens. I can't begin to estimate how many times I've passed this section of the walls and I've never noticed these steps before. Much of the year it's partially shrouded by the foliage and they're not steps anyone can access, but it does suggest to me I need to open my eyes more when walking around the city I thought I knew so well.
