Plonkers

York is well known for the flooding that happens each year, sometimes several times a year. As ever, such shots owe a great deal to fortune and I was just about to go having taken a dozen or so images today when a couple of canoes came into shot - along the footpath. The river bank is normally where the far bollards are and the flood water is some 20 feet plus up the street. This chap isn't the plonker, but the person who left their Mercedes (foreground r/h/s) at this end of Cumberland Street most certainly is. The river is still rising and when I left the water already covered his front wheels up to about half way.
