Commitment

We have kept quiet about this. Jo wanted to elope when we first got married nearly 20 years ago. 20 years ago tommorrow to be exact. I wouldn't hear of it although the ceremony was low key at the time.

Today we did what Jo wanted to do all those years ago and "eloped" on a cruise and renewed our vows. It was wonderful and very romantic. The ship's captain Salvatore Lupo performed the ceromony in the Captains Lounge, something we had pre-arranged. We were actually quite lucky to get the captain himself do the ceremony. Nice chap.

Jo wore the dress she go married in 20 years ago which at the time was, and still is, something borrowed. She looks as good in it now as she did then. Sue might get it back one day. Me, I got married in jeans and this time I didn't see any point in changing the trend.

The whole ceremony was well organise and well worth the planning.
So, to all our family and friends, sorry we didn't keep you in the loop (although some might have suspected!). This one was for the two of us.

Tonight we have managed to find ourselves a couple of deck chairs at the adults only Oasis Bar which is at the rear of the ship. Under cover because the weather isn't cooperating. The ship is still sailing in the tropics so it isn't cold. It will be when we get back to Brisbane on Saturday. Well our version of cold anyway.
