Waulkmill Bay

I had a walk about Hobbister, down onto Waulkmill Bay, then up to the Loch of Kirbister. It was brighter than this morning promised, but with quite a chilll breeze. Birds included stonechats, snipe, ravens, red-breasted merganser, lots of wrens, fieldfares, redwing, etc and a quite late chiffchaff.
The picture shows the Mill Burn as it flows past Forker's Gill. At this moment you could have swum it. Half an hour later it could have been waded. I sat and had coffee and watched the bay drain as the tide dropped. Then I walked on the sands.
