Conversion

Yesterday while looking for the 50p to blip I went through a box of stuff. I have rather a lot of these, they are converters that allow devices such as mice or keyboards that can communicate in either USB or PS/2 mode to physically connect into a PS/2 socket. They were common when the first generation USB keyboards and mice came out onto the market and most computers had PS/2 sockets but no or too few USB sockets. They are quite rare now as most computers have USB sockets on them and rarely have PS/2.

Ironically the more useful interface is the other-way round, PS/2 device into a a USB socket. Plenty of people (like me) have good quality PS/2 kit but find we no longer have sockets on our computers to plug them into. If you are a quick typist or a gamer then PS/2 is preferable too as they as the interface puts less load on the computer and is more responsive too...
