Flint and thatch

I went to look around St Mary's church in Itchen Stoke this afternoon as it was open. I took quite a few photos and then I noticed this beautiful cottage on the opposite side of the road. A delightful example of a dwelling constructed from flint with a thatched roof. I am not sure that I have seen the two together before as you usually see the thatched cottages with oak beams and plaster.
The swifts (my favourite birds) were wheeling and screeching overhead, the sun was out and it just seemed like the perfect Hampshire scene.
It almost seemed like Summer!
