Got the T-shirts

Well, today was interesting.
The plan was to go on the steamer across Ullswater and run back to Glenridding, but the weather had other ideas.
I was booked on the 3rd sailing at 10am and was all ready to go down to the pier when the announcement came the steamers had been cancelled and only the 9am one was able to go due to the gale force winds which had got up very quickly. The runners also found it very hard coming back and the mountain rescue were given work to do.
There was a back-up plan doing a loop using parts of the course but this couldn't start until noon as they had to get all the runners and marshals back and redeployed.
By this time the rain was coming down in torrents and a few people decided not to wait the 2 hours, though most went to find a warmer place for coffee.
Despite the conditions (fortunately only a couple of sections were really affected by the strong headwind) I really enjoyed my run. My bottom half was soaked, the puddles were extensive and care was needed for the wet rock but I was warm enough and made some progress up the field.
The timing system was effected so accurate results and placings aren't possible but it didn't matter - and I won another spot prize, a bottle of wine.
Everyone was in before part of the course flooded and everything was cleared away before it was blown away
It was a very stormy night
