Sam's strawberry victoria sponge

Carefully crafted last night and finished off with strawberries and icing sugar this morning (he got up especially early).

He didn't win the competition but since there was none left I think it's safe to say that it must have tasted good.  

Sam came home more anxious about how his audition for a part in the school production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' had gone.  No one else in the family has come anywhere near to 'treading the boards' as a pastime, and I really hope he gets a part.
