Lupe

Lupe is the adviser for the youth group at my church.  She is a gracious, shy, unassuming woman.  She does a wonderful job in her capacity as adviser.  Once a month she is outside the church after mass selling homemade tamales.

The kids, who are all Hispanic, and their mothers work hard making bags of ten and she, often with the assistance of the teens, sell them for $20 each.  They sell like hot tamales!

They accumulated enough money over the past several years that last year fifteen teens and eight adults were able to go on a trip to Rome to see the Pope.

Today she is getting prepared to set up for the sidewalk sale that the St. Vincent De Paul second hand shop is having this weekend.  The youth group will be selling a lot of tamales there.  At least they hope so
