Tears for modern life

I went into the centre of Winchester today, thinking of Paris (as I'm sure we all were) and those devastated families.

First I went to the cathedral to light and blip a candle for peace, but a keen photography-man barged up and wanted to look at my pictures and told me how I could do them better.  Having lit my candle, I left.

Then I stood in the High St trying to take different pictures and got soaked.

But as I was leaving, wet and cold, I saw this on a bench.  It had filled up with rain.  Suddenly to me it said all you need to say about desolation. 

So there we are:
