Spring-like

We went up to the allotment in a drenching Scots mist, intending merely to dump the kitchen compost and feed the birds. We weren't able to do the latter, since the bird feeder had been trashed and broken, probably by someone with teeth. Probably a grey squirrel or a rat - rodents are the chief suspects, anyway. The spudgers hopped around disconsolately, wondering why the appearance of their pal Dave hadn't produced a lot of delicious food. Back to an afternoon of tidying and sorting followed by a delicious meal.

On our way across the Links the trees gave the momentary impression that their new leaves were starting to open, as in Spring. We still haven't had a proper frost as far as I know.
