Gourdon

The mist and rain of yesterday has disappeared, only the cold remains, however we may have to get used to the cold, it has been quite mild up until now, so it may be time to pay.

The photograph shows part of Gourdon harbour. Gordon is unusual in that it is one of the few harbours where a small fishing industry continues today. Gordon is a natural harbour, the existing harbour is a relatively recent construction, built around 1820 and expanded later in the same century.

There were several fishing boats in the harbour, and quite a bit of activity while I was there. It is also home to a number of pleasure boats, and the photo is a contrast of creels and pleasure boats.
