Crosspatch

Thought I’d take a break from the birds, and go with a lizard today. Slightly blurry, because he wasn’t prepared to pose – every time I crept closer, he scurried off.

Took the usual hours to batten down the hatches at home, pack a mini-move into the car and set off for the hills. We took the longer, more scenic route, to avoid possible disturbances at the toll. Hearing later how friends had had a near escape a few days earlier, we were glad of our decision. Protesters had launched a rocket (firework type, presumably) at the toll booth just as our friend had paid up, drawn in her hand and shut the window. Otherwise, it would have gone straight into the car and could have hit her or caused a fire or an explosion.

Late lunch at the club, after supermarket shopping on the way, then into town to buy Prosecco for NYE and beer for now, before going home and putting the dogs through their paces. I almost managed a shot of the new moon (symbol of hope?), but with no tripod and no remote, and forgetting to try using the timer, I couldn’t get a clear one.

And now watching the news about the horrific attacks in France.  Will the world ever see an end to the atrocities prompted by hatred disguised as religion?
