Fowl weather

Incessant rain still, and if we hadn’t been going to such a beautiful place, the idea of an hour’s drive over sodden roads for a barbecue might not have appealed. However, it did and we had a wonderful time.  Our hostesses spent much of their childhood, and now work, in various South American countries and this weekend had visitors from Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay, as well as some of the usual crowd from nearby and Rio. It was a lovely, relaxed group and the barbecue, preceded by large quantities of delicious prawn ceviche,  was excellent. The 12 dogs were happily inside most of the time, but the guinea fowl looked very bedraggled and complained loudly about the weather.
