Mysterious Mushrooms

How very odd.  I found this rather large clump of mushrooms lying on the front lawn this morning.  Something (an animal, I presume ...) dug them up, and must have carried them here, because there is no sign of any other mushroom growth near by.  What made the fungus aficionado drop them here?  Was something bigger (and hungrier) in hot pursuit?  Was there something more appetizing found in the grass, resulting in agaricus abandonment? I guess I'll never know the answer, but it's something interesting to ponder.
