STROMNESS GUARD DOG

I managed a short wander in Stromness this morning but only for as long as it took G to buy a loaf of bread. Then we spent the morning at Hobbister RSPB reserve which was a grand moor and sea cliff walk with lots of birds to see.

Cuween Hill, a Neolithic chambered cairn where an essential torch was handily provided in a wooden box outside the entrance, was next on the list, followed by Maes Howe. Maes Howe is a must see place on Orkney, and the young man as our tour guide was so enthusiastic and entertaining, and certainly knew his stuff! Thank you.
