La vida de Annie

By Annie

Proud Mum day.

Here's the reason for my trip back to the UK: #1S's graduation today in Sheffield, where he received his Masters Degree in International Documentary Filmmaking. He was the only graduand not wearing the usual shirt and tie to which the hood is anchored, on account of being working all morning on a shoot, and had no time to change. Suited him better I thought, not being trussed up like a penguin. His sisters were also there (obviously) and #1GS, who whiled away the extremely long ceremony by running along the aisles in the civic hall and then crunching crisps and watching Toy Story loudly on his portable dvd player - every time there was applause for another award he stood up and said "shush!". Afterwards he decided to raid a coffee vending machine and throw stirring sticks all over the floor of the foyer, which was pretty funny. A good day in all, despite the torrential rain and tedious journeys there and back. I'm really not acclimatised yet.
